Public Information on Coronavirus

Dear Greeneview Families & Staff,

At Greeneview Local Schools, the health, safety and well-being of students and staff are top priorities.

With the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) making headlines, district officials want to make sure to reinforce preventative safety measures and to offer additional information. We are aware of the growing concerns regarding COVID-19 locally as well as throughout the country. Regular updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) are being closely monitored along with information provided by our local and state health agencies.

At the time of this statement, there there are no reports of the coronavirus in our schools and no confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Ohio. However, it is important that we all remain informed and take reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of any infectious diseases.

District officials are closely monitoring the situation and taking guidance and recommendations from national, state and local health agencies to prevent any infection of a respiratory virus. There is currently no recommendation to close schools in the United States.  Simple ways to protect yourself and your family include:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Do not share food, drinks or eating/drinking utensils.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home when sick.

  • Cough or sneeze into an elbow or use a tissue and place immediately in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

More information on the coronavirus is also available on the CDC website at We have also included these resources from UC-Berkeley and SAMHSA for parents to use when talking to their children about COVID-19.

In addition, Greeneview Local School families should remember that if children are sick, they should not be at school.  Students need to be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to class after any illness. Please feel free to contact your child’s school if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students and staff safe.
